Orientation – Visiting a “Tribal Village”

Our final semester at Missionary Training Centre began this morning with our first day of Orientation. We were able to meet all of the incoming students, coming from places like British Columbia, the Bahamas, and Chicago, and from careers such as paramedics, mill-wrights, cosmetologists, etc. We are excited to get to know everyone even more this semester!

Part of today’s orientation involved visiting a “tribal village” (an area on campus) with the objectives of making contact with a “tribal” person and learning a way to greet and a way to say bye. We all got a little out of our comfort zone today! It reminded us of how thankful we are for this training that we are able to receive that teaches us how to enter a completely foreign culture and how to learn a language that we don’t have textbooks or Rosetta Stone for.
