This past week we celebrated Mark’s birthday, Canada Day, and Independence Day.
Though I am thankful for the different freedoms we have in Canada and the US, these holidays have caused me to remember of how I am most thankful for the freedom I have in Christ! He has set me free from the law, the reign of sin, and the punishment of death (aka, eternal separation from God).
“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”
Mark and his family
Mark turned 22 on June 29th! He has been working at a ice cream factory in Ontario for several weeks now. He also moved into our apartment on the MTC campus this past week, too. We have a beautiful apartment with running water and a bathroom! Definitely a step up from our apartment from NTBI, haha. We will post pictures once I get back to Durham. Mark’s visit to the dentist went well. They fixed the bites for both of his crowns, and so far he has no further problems with it. Thank you for your prayers for his teeth!
Lauren and her sister, Jordann
I, Lauren, have been staying with my parents and sister for the past month. It’s been nice to relax and spend time with friends and family. This past weekend we had a Canada Day party and also enjoyed watching an amazing fireworks show (part of the Singing Flag) at the park. Thursday is my last day in the Bay Area of California; I will be driving down to Los Angeles with my dad and sister, and will be staying with a dear friend of mine as well as attending a wedding.
Seven days till I see Mark again!
-For Lauren as she will be driving and flying across the country this upcoming week.
-The Siar people in Papua New Guinea will be hearing evangelistic Bible teaching for the first time today! Missionaries Chris, Lane, and Jonathan have been preparing for this day for 4-5 years. It should take about 3 to 4 months of chronological teaching before they present the gospel (death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ). Please pray that the missionaries will communicate God’s Word clearly, and that the Siar people will be open and receptive.
-The Lord provided the finances to purchase a needed voice recorder for our classes.
