A Spectacular and Ominous Cloud

Tonight on the way to the Pipes’ house we saw a beautiful cloud, which we took a picture of.

During the bonfire with their church supper group, we admired the enormous cloud and saw some lightning in the distance.

Little did we know that amidst those clouds in Rice, Texas this tornado was causing havoc (damaging their elementary school, causing wrecks on 1-45, and moving train cars).

Isn’t it crazy to think about the power that such a spectacular and seemingly harmless cloud can have?

“By the breath of God ice is given,
and the broad waters are frozen fast.
He loads the thick cloud with moisture;
the clouds scatter his lightning.
They turn around and around by his guidance,
to accomplish all that he commands them
on the face of the habitable world.”
Job 37:10-12
