Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Update: Dec 3, 2009

Greetings from NTBI Jackson, Michigan.

Lauren and I have been so encouraged by the support and prayer that we’ve been getting from everyone. We are both very excited to be finishing up our last block and moving on to our last semester here at NTBI Jackson. We are so looking forward to heading down to Texas to spend Christmas with Lauren’s family. We’ve also been pleased with how our studies have been progressing. We are currently taking James and Jude with Rex G., Ephesians with Chris M., and Galatians with Gordon B. (Butch). It’s been amazing to see the clarity that has been presented to us by these men. It’s amazing to see the amount of wisdom that these men possess in regards to the scripture, and how willing they are to share it with us. It’s so great to be able to literally ask them any question and be given a straightforward answer.

We visited Mark’s family in Durham, ON for American Thanksgiving.

We could certainly use your support, however, in regards to our financial situation. We still are unaware of my Medicaid situation. We’ve been wondering how to proceed as far as next semester goes in regards to if we will be returning to NTBI for our final semester or if we will have to step out of the training and work. We are trusting God with this situation though and we know that all things will indeed work out for His good in the end.

On a lighter note, I recently discovered that I will have more than enough credits to graduate next semester and therefore I won’t have to take any electives (though I do intend to audit many of those classes). This will leave me open to pursue investment opportunities that I would not otherwise be able to pursue. I intend to start a martial arts class and bible study group next semester as well as growing more involved with the teachers. I would lastly like to ask for prayer in regards to my absorption of the teaching that we have been receiving. God has really been showing me that it takes much more than simply reading through the lessons, I’ve been really praying for the Lord to help me apply the truths that I’ve been learning.

Thank you all for your continued prayer and support of Lauren and I as we finish up this final block. It’s been a real growth process for both of us adjusting to the many difficulties and joys of marriage, but I know I speak for both of us when I say that God has really used this semester to bring us closer together and closer to Him, and with God’s help we hope to have an even better senior semester.

In Christ Jesus: Mark & Lauren

I found this verse very encouraging and I thought I’d share it with you all. Enjoy.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:1)

Every blessing! Now that’s something to be encouraged about! Have a blessed Christmas everyone. Love you all!
